This internship is offered together with Rewilding Europe. To promote rewilding of forests, it is important to know what a wild or rewilded forest looks like. Therefore, we will search for iconic and perhaps less well-known European forests and characterize its features, the ecology, the management and the business model. The work entails close contact with supervisors from Rewilding Europe, searching for information on wild forests in Europe and contacting individuals who hold information about these forests. Furthermore, a structured way of working and good communication and writing skills are needed to document the information in a categorical and easy to understand manner for rewilding practitioners. Scientifically, the internship will strongly contribute to our understanding of rewilding of forests.
