Over

As a research assistant in the Animal Ecology group, I contribute to research on the ecological effects of light pollution and on how spectrally adjusted lighting can support healthier ecosystems over time.

Biografie

I completed my Bachelor’s and Master’s in Biology at Wageningen University, with a specialization in Ecology. For my internship, I worked at NIOO-KNAW on a project by Gabriel Charvalakis studying the effect of different colors of light on the attraction of insects in forested areas. After that, I was fortunate to find a position at NIOO as a research assistant. From May 2024 until December 2025, I work within the group of Kamiel Spoelstra, focusing on research on the effects of light at night on different species. My tasks mainly include fieldwork at the Light on Nature sites and in cities, where light pollution is most abundant.

My work is very diverse, allowing me to contribute to many different projects within our group.
