The goal of my research is to develop a general, mechanistic, and predictive understanding of the interactive effects of human impacts on the Earth’s ecosystems. In this work, I use theoretical, experimental, and observational approaches to study basic and applied topics in community and ecosystem ecology including disease, plant and soil microbiomes, plant invasions, and global change.

De Honorary Fellows van het NIOO-KNAW
Het NIOO-KNAW werkt samen met vele onderzoekers in binnen- en buitenland. Een speciale categorie vormen de Honorary Fellows. Vanuit hun eigen instituut of universiteit versterken zij met NIOO-collega's het werkveld door kennis en ideeën te delen. Het betekent ook regelmatig samen onderzoek doen bij het NIOO, nieuwe projecten opzetten of onderzoeksresultaten publiceren. Dit zijn onze negen talentvolle Honorary Fellows.
