My current research is focus on how gut microbiomes affects individual behavioural traits and to what extent dietary changes affect this gut microbial functionality.
I did my PhD at the National Museum of Natural Sciences (MNCN - CSIC, Spain) and at the University of Valencia. My PhD thesis focused on the incubation behaviour of female Great tits (Parus major) and their responses to changing environmental temperatures. During my first postdoc, I started to work on avian gut microbiomes. I focused on the sources and temporal dynamics of gut bacterial colonization during the development of Great tits in the nest. My current project continues to focus on the effects of the microbiome on individuals, investigating the relationship between diet composition, gut microbiome functionality and behavioural traits in the wild and in captivity.
