Collaborations
For specific niches in research, NIOO has established various initiatives together with private partners and societal stakeholders. Aquatic Knowledge Centre Wageningen (AKWA) translates state-of-the art scientific knowledge into practical solutions for water issues, while the Dutch Centre for Avian Migration and Demography coordinates all data on ringed birds in the country with applications for nature management. Both are examples of collaborations.
Translate to society
From water quality to bird population studies, NIOO is home to a number of collaborations that help to translate science to societal needs.
