Understanding how populations and communities are assembled, adapt, and persist is of paramount importance under the ongoing global change context
I am an evolutionary ecologist studying how plant species respond to environmental change. My work integrates experimental ecology, quantitative genetics and large-scale biodiversity data to understand adaptive potential and species persistence.
After completing my PhD on eco-evolutionary responses of Mediterranean plants to climate-related stressors at Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (Madrid, Spain), I joined NIOO-KNAW, where I analyse historical and contemporary plant distribution data to explore how urbanization and global change shape plant communities in the Netherlands.
