De wintervlinder- rupsen komen tegenwoordig eerder uit het ei dan de eikenbladeren uit hun knop. De jonge rupsen kunnen maar een paar dagen zonder eten. Het gevolg is dus duidelijk: de eerstgeborenen sterven. Wat zien we bij de koolmees? -
Vogel, rups en blad: agendaproblemen
Tegenwoordig komen de wintervlinderrupsen gemiddeld veertien dagen eerder uit het ei dan vroeger, en dan zitten de blaadjes nog in hun knop. Dat heet 'mistiming' op: ze komen te vroeg uit het ei. -
