We're looking for a student to join our research project on the impact of artificial light at night (ALAN) on plants. As part of the BioClock Project, our aim is to better understand the effects of ALAN on plant ecology and physiology in native plant communities.
During our field campaign at the Veluwe, you'll gain hands-on experience in fieldwork and assist us in studying plant resource allocation, photosynthetic activity, and morphological traits under different light treatments. After the field campaign, you'll have the opportunity to apply your lab skills to analyze the data we've collected and contribute to our understanding of the impact of ALAN on plants.
We're seeking someone who is passionate about biology and has an interest in the effects of human activity on the natural world. The field work runs from April to July (you can start from between now and the end of April) analysis and writing can be extended to your needs after July. A driving license is very handy. If you're interested in working on this topic, please contact Evelien Castrop (e.castrop@cml.leidenuniv.nl).
