Over

Using microbes is an alternative to help agricultural plants when in a stressed condition. My research aims to use fungal species to manage Striga sp. a weed plant that affect sorghum, a staple food crop.

Biografie

I'm Plant Pathologist with a focus on the management of plant diseases and taxonomy of plant pathogens. Currently, I’m working on the Promise project where my research focus in another branch of biotic stress. In this project, the microbes appear as a promising alternative interacting with the plant host, Sorghum and managing an important parasitic weed, Striga. In the Promise group, different approaches are in use to find a sustainable solution to the problem of striga in sorghum and, thus helping farmers that have on sorghum their livelihood.
