Over

My research contributes to a better understanding of plants' interactions with beneficial microbes under herbivory stress. In particular, I focus on chemical communication by studying the root volatilome of plant-microbe interactions.

Biografie

I am part of the MiRA (Microbial Induced Resistance to Agricultural Pests) Marie-Curie ITN. My PhD project focuses on root-beneficial microbe interactions of tomato plants under herbivory stress (Spodoptera exigua). During my PhD I covered various topics:

  • Screening for beneficial microbes that can induce systemic resistance against insect pests under different experimental conditions
  • Impact of microbial inoculants (single species and synthetic community) on native rhizosphere communities.
  • Impact of microbial inoculants on rhizosphere volatilome, with special focus on roots colonized by arbsucular mycorrhiza fungi.
  • Genetic and methodological dependency of root volatilome characterization under herbivory stress
