Waakvogels: werkpakket Rotgans
WAAKVOGELS aims for a better understanding of the effects of management measures as well as other interventions in the Wadden Sea by collecting measurement data and historical datasets on six migratory bird species. Each of these six species represents a specific habitat within the Wadden Sea. NIOO-KNAW is studying the dark-bellied brent goose as a representative species for seagrass beds, salt marshes, and polders. The ringed and GPS-tagged birds provide data on their presence, numbers, foraging behaviour, body condition, and survival.
