Visit NIOO on Saturday 5 October. Find out how animals, plants, fungi and bacteria live and work together. Check out how we as humans can use this knowledge for the benefit of 21st century nature. For example, how should we handle extreme weather and climate change? How can we get wild nature back and protect our crops in a nature-friendly way?
Expect a wide range of activities throughout the day. You can play the Fat Geese Game, make your own water quality measuring device and have your picture taken as a microbe. Are you a good one or a bad one? In addition you can see the labs, do experiments, play games, ask researchers anything, and much more.
NIOO is trying to provide solutions for the nature of the future. In and around our building, we are testing new inventions for society. Take a look at the experimental high temperature storage, at our large nature roof, or at our 'Poop = Gold' project. And by the way...when you use the toilet in our building, you are contributing to that project yourself. Through natural processes, NIOO recycles everything you flush. What we finally end up with? Clean water that can go right back into nature!
Be surprised by our many topics and activities:
