The aim of this research is to examine the effects of invertebrate soil predators on the performance of a vigorously northward-expanding herbaceous plant species- Centaurea stoebe.

Answering this question is crucial for understanding how two key impacts of climate warming (range-shift of plants and trophic downgrading) may affect each other and how the resulting effects determine the composition, structure, and functioning of ecosystems in a warmer world.
