Biography
Werner Smulders MSc is the head of the Research Support Office at NIOO since 2025. He brings a wide background in both study and working experience. He studied biology and sustainable business at Wageningen University, combining scientific knowledge with practical tools to make impact in the sector. He worked in different roles at feed, food, and tech companies through the agricultural sector and had a consultancy role in funding applications for environmental projects in the Dutch and EU-landscape.
