Ing. Dennis Waasdorp graduated from the Reynevelt College (Delft) in 1996 as a biological technician where he specialized in botany. After that he studied Forestry and Nature management at the Hogeschool Larenstein (Velp) where he specialized in Nature and Landscape engineering. In 2001 he started his working career at the Netherlands Institute for Sea Research (NIOZ-Texel) at the department of Marine Ecology. He worked on a long term sampling program with macrozoobenthos at the intertidal mudflat at balgzand (2001-2008). In 2008 he switched to fresh water and worked at Alterra (Wageningen) at the department of Fresh Water Ecology as a HBO Researcher. There he worked in several projects with macrofauna and fytoplankton. In 2010 he was based at Wageningen University at the department of Aquatic Ecology and Water Quality Management. There he worked at lake restoration programs and started working with fytoplankton chemostats. In 2011 he started at NIOO (Wageningen) as a Biological technician. His main tasks are:
technical assistance in the field with ecological experiments
working with (2nd stage) chemostats with the rotifer Brachionus calyciflorus
Flowcytometer work on the BD Influx
Fyto-/zooplankton microscopy work
Ecological experiments in the laboratory
